The proposals will provide a mixed-use development comprising ground floor commercial space and 73 new homes. 35% of the new homes will be affordable. 9.6% of the new homes will be wheelchair accessible. 68% of the new homes will be dual aspect and no north facing homes will be single aspect.
Contrasting brickwork has been incorporated to provide an interesting, varied scheme. The commercial unit on the ground floor provides an active frontage, thus improving security. A shared amenity space will be provided to the south east and north east of the building at ground floor, along with a south facing terrace on the 8th floor. As the development of the proposals has progressed, ground floor amenity has increased and now wraps around the rear of the building adjacent to the riverside.
As part of the proposals, improvements to the footpath to the station will be made by widening the path from 1.5m to 3m. A shared space for amenity will be provided to the south of the building. It is also possible to improve connections between the pedestrian and cycle path over the railway lines. This will feature commercial space fronting onto Bedfont Lane, as well as plant space, cycle and bin storage.
